Why is it taking my balance so much longer than usual to update and be available?

Hi all,

 

I was wondering is anyone would know why my balance is taking so long to show up on my Square balance? Typically it shows up within 10 minutes. As I was up late, I processed 2 payments I had been owed and used the manual entry feature. This was around 2:30am which I've never done before, it just happend to be a payment owed to me by a friend who got paid today. It's showing up in transactions as if everything went through like usual and nothing out of the ordinary. It just hasn't updated to my balance. I'm hoping it's because of the time, but it just seems weird and I'm hoping it will be there in the morning. Not sure if anyone has ever dealt with that kind of issue? Hoping it shows in my balance soon as I'd been waiting on the payment and certainly could use it. Thanks for any info!

I see you posted this on Friday. Are the funds still not showing? As @ryanwanner mentioned, a review could cause a delay. Additionally, have you ever initiated a transfer at 2:30 AM? Sometimes there can be slight delays. I’ve experienced similar situations with other apps, where transfers made after a certain time weren’t available until the next business day.

Hello @ddiamante24 !

 

If all your other transactions are showing up as usual, my bet is that these two transactions got flagged and are pending review. Manually entering the numbers at a time that isn't usual to your business are definitely red flags for any financial services company, and they're going to want to do some back end verifying to make sure everything is on the up and up. Once the reviews are complete those funds should be available in your balance. I've seen these reviews take 1-5 business days depending on how long you've been processing with Square.
