Cart on site not working

Hi everyone. So my host company and I can’t figure out why my cart isn’t working. It will not allow me to add to cart or load the cart for checkout. This is now going on 7 days with my website out of commission and I have lost many sales. Very frustrating that something seemingly simple is not working. I currently have a paid plan, so I know that is not the issue.  Anyone able to help.

Hi @LegalBurning.  Sorry to see this.  I went to your site and tried to add items, with the same result.  The “Add to Cart” button is just not responding at all.  You didn’t mention what troubleshooting steps you’ve taken, so please forgive me if you’ve already done this.

 

When I was using Weebly a few years ago, I found that I would have to occasionally unpublish and republish my site because of random glitches like this.  I could never find a reason for the glitches, but this act seemingly fixed them.  Have you tried unpublishing and republishing your Weebly site?  Please note that I’m suggesting two steps, not one.  Just publishing your site on top of the existing one might not help.  This is because the act of unpublishing your site actually gets rid of everything in that site’s directory, giving you a “clean slate” when you republish.

 

Otherwise, you didn’t say whether or not you have been on the phone with Square Support.  If what I suggest above does not work, that is really your logical next step.  I’m not seeing any system-wide issues with Weebly web sites, so my suspicion is this is due to some error in your account internals.  They can try to replicate this and escalate the problem to someone who should be able to help you.  You can contact them here, and I would recommend talking to a live person rather than using email/chat.  Unfortunately, since you didn’t post this until a few hours ago they have very limited support on weekends, especially since this is a holiday weekend for them with Monday being a federal banking holiday.

So i tried unpublishing and republishing, as well as making sure my square account is valid and up to date.

I also changed the payment method to Stripe just to test it, and still no luck with the cart.

Any other recommendations?

Unfortunately, I do not. At this point, the Weebly engineering team needs to look into this. You’ll need to give Square a call on Tuesday. If I do think of anything else to try, I’ll let you know.
