optimum image size to upload & adding alt-text

Hi guys,

I have been looking up the optimum image size "not file size" to upload to weebly, particularly to a gallery that contains a number of images so when one of them is clicked, it looks sharp and nice ... but I could find nothing .... even when I chatted with weebly staff, none of them had an answer for that question ... hopefully someone here has an answer for that.

Also, if I wanna add an alt-text to each image inside a gallery, I need to do that through coding not like for a single image element; could anyone walk me through this plz? with screen shots if possible please?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jaguarjj,

The reason why there isn't really an answer to that question, is because it really depends on your images, it's a case by case situation. I would recommend to make all the images in your gallery the same size, however if you upload different sizes, the gallery will create thumbnails, then when you click on it, it will be a larger version. I always like to recommend to make your images atleast 500 x 500, but try experiementing with a few different sizes to see which one looks best for you.

Unfortunately there isn't a way to add alt-text to galleries or slideshows at this time. You can certainly request this feature here, https://community.weebly.com/t5/Vote-on-Features/idb-p/IdeaExchange

If you wanted to do it with coding, you would have to manually code up the whole gallery and add the alt-text that way. You can do this using the "Embed code" element from the "Build" tab.
