Narrow RSS feed element to one category

I'm using (intending) my blog page to post specials, topical information that our staff wants to share and upcoming events.  I've placed the feed reader element on the home page and its working, but only want it to show content categorized as "Specials".   How do I do that?

@bmarx

Until you find an "elegant" solution why not add another blog for specials only and that will give you your dedicated feed on the home page...

@NJRFTF I did think about that but I still want all content on one page, otherwise I think the events on the other page may go unlooked.  Also trying to make this as simple as possible for our staff to take over the blog posting duties, I fear that two pages may cause confusion with postings going to the wrong place.

Is there no way to modify the element to filter on a specific category in a RSS feed.  If so is that a Weebly thing or just normal with RSS, in other words could I do it with my own code instead of using the ready made Weebly element?

Me too am looking to do that for organizing old blog posts. Any way without using a feed generator like Feed43? It sounds silly not to have that option!

Hi guys!

Thanks for your suggestion, however unfortunately there isn't a way to pull a specific category using the RSS feed. Setting up a separate blog for just those type of posts might be the best work around at this time.

I do apologize about that inconvenience. You can certainly request this feature here, https://community.weebly.com/t5/Vote-on-Features/idb-p/IdeaExchange
