Potential to Cover or Remove "Add to Cart" display and alter "Sold Out" language - is this possible?
Hello Weebly!
I was hoping someone could help me figure out some display challenges I am having, and whether fixing them is at all possible.
I idealized using a Weebly site as a way for a portion of my company's employees to filter through products- in this case they are promotions. Therefore, the online store is not being used for purchases - rather for its functionality in batch uploading information with a clear display.
That being said, for the purpose I have made the site - I do not need the "Add to Cart" and social icons.
My 1st inquiry: Is there a way to remove the "Add to Cart" element or cover it up using some type of app? I just don't want to confuse the users and reinforce this platform is merely to filter through information.
My 2nd inquiry: Can phrasing be changed at all in a site template? For example, the most important part of the items I have created is their expiration date. Instead of making a product "Sold Out" by putting its inventory at 0, I want it to read "Expired" instead.
I would appreciate any insight someone may have. I know this requests are quite particular, but I want to avoid starting from square one with a competitor.
Thank you Weebly community!
Clara

Hi @clara27 Super sorry for the delay. Yes, you can remove the cart icon by clicking Store>Settings>Checkout>Advanced Settings and then changing the option to Buy Now. One thing to note; you will need to have a payment processor connected. If you do not have a Square/Stripe account (or do not want to create one) you can change the option by using either our Google or Apple app. Unfortunately, these are the only two routes to take to remove the icon.
At this time it is not possible to change the wording on the badge. You can remove the badge from Store>Settings>General and use the Categories option to move items to an "expired" state. Just a thought.

If you do go to your store settings and then checkout > advanced and change your store mode to buy now, it will also disable the option to add items to cart in addition to removing the cart from your menu. If someone clicks a buy now link, it will send them straight to the checkout page. I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for, though, @clara27.

I use Weebly. I am trying to remove the Shopping cart Icon. When I go to Setting, I can not find the Checkout choice. Any advice?

Hi @huneremin Make sure you are making the change from the main dashboard and not the site editor. From the main dashboard, click Settings > Checkout, then switch to the Buy Now option instead of Add to Cart 😊
