HTML format changes when published

I wanted to embed some HTML in a blog page. I'm a novice, so it was a case of using ww3 snippets and changing. It look pretty with spinners and shaded lozenges. I published it and the formatting is now basic and not what I specified (or could see in the editor). I've made it look Ok, but for the future ... what have I done wrong?

What page of your site did you add it to, @PippaE? It sounds like you've got some broken code in your embed code element.

I added the code to a blog post. It looked fine in the editor. Just wondered if I've used something that's not supported.

There's a couple things that could be doing it. One is you have it within the color block app, which was removed from the App Center a while back. I would replace the app with this one:

The other thing is you have some HTML tags in there which are already present on the page itself, and are unique tags that shouldn't be used again. These would be <html> and </html>, <head> and </head>, and <body> and </body>.
