Entire format of my website has changed

This is totally bizarre. I went into the CSS code to change the footer background colour and hit save. Nothing happened. Complete balck in the bottom half of my screen where the change usually reflects. So I relaoded the site and published. Big mistake. My navigation menus tabs have disappeared. The format of the website - columns etc have changed. the font of my block quotes has changed. AND I UNABLE TO REVERSE THIS ALL! Help!

Thank you!

Hi @Dilaks. Definitely take the advice from @whitemonkey to change back to an original theme. Otherwise you will need to figure out what was edited in the code to make the navigation disappear. Thanks!

Hi and thank you for responding. My original website looked like this: https://web.archive.org/web/20190628172615/http:/www.outwardboundindia.com/ (I got a month old link from web.archive)

My current website now looks like this: http://www.outwardboundindia.com/

This is the screenshot of the CSS code I was trying to change.

Thank you!

@Dilaks

Is the image of the coding after u changed it or before ?

I am comparing it to my own coding:

I just changed the background colour to #003366 and then changed it back to what it is now. That's all I did. So the screenshot is after tI changed the change (if that makes sense.

But thank you so much - I just reverted back to the old Theme. At least I'm back on line now.

Ah ok   so u r back on line. Thats good.

As suggested b4.   Make a copy site  and tweak the coding on the copy site  b4 doing it on the main one.

I always make 1 colour adjustment at a time   so i can see what gives   and i always make it to #ff6600   a lurid orange.  So easy to see..  but some times   the change could be to a border thats set to zero or area that is not seen    like a footer wrap..  i only hav basic paid account.  So editing the footer does not help me.

And   if u miss out a simple ;   after the colour it will send ur site into diassaray ..

Good luck  @Dilaks

Just wanted to let you know that I used the inspect tool on your site and checked the header area. I believe most (if not all) theme names are listed somewhere in the header code.

Also, how do I figure out what the original theme was? I changed quite a bit of the olours, widtg etc from the CSS once I took over building this site. The earlier person cannot remember what the original theme was.

Thank you
