Hey @jaylethbridge! If you click on your form in the editor and view form options, you should see a toggle to turn on Google Captcha.

Hi Adam,

Yep, got that part OK. Just need some help implementing it.
Signed in to Google and there is a "Site Key" code. What do I do with that?
You turn it on, but nothing then tells you what to do.
Published website and nothing was there Smiley Surprised

I had to do a Google Search for Google Captcha. That is when I thought to sign in to my Google Account, but like I said, the Site Key is a mystery and no idea what to do with it.

Thanks Adam

Regards, Jay

@jaylethbridge, there's no need to generate the "site key" from Google since the reCaptcha is owned and managed by Weebly and not you.  All you need to do is to turn it on.  Here's step-by-step instructions on how to turn on and test Google Captcha on Weebly: https://blog.ivertech.com/blog/how-to-add-recaptcha-to-weebly-contact-form

It gets tricky trying to test the Google Captcha feature as the challenge question is only displayed AFTER you click on the the “submit” button. Also, you will need to clear your cookie or use an incognito window in order for the Captcha feature to kick in. There will be no “I’m not a robot” checkbox at all!

Hello webexfu! One thing you may want to bear in mind is that the CAPTCHA will only appear when necessary, but will still be active on the form. Is there a particular page you're seeing it not appear on?

www.silbernetz.org/kontakt I have been kooing around for a long time to find a way to protect the contact formula. I turned the pre-installed toggle on, but the spam won´t stop.

Thanks a lot for your help!

All the best from Germany Smiley Happy

Sorry to hear that, @Silbernetz. CAPTCHAs are great at stopping non-human spammers, but they unfortunately can't stop a human visitor from enter spammy information. Generally, if you ignore them and delete them they should stop on their own.

Google's CAPTCHA will show only if it detects something that it thinks could be spammy behavior. Google does this so human visitors don't necessarily have to hassle with the CAPTCHA without needing to. If a bot were to try and load the form to submit something it would catch this and use it, though.

I have a standard Weebly Contact Form enabled on my Contact page. From the Weebly editor, when I click on Contact Form and then select Form Options button, there is no CAPTCHA option or button that I can see anywhere. Though I do think I have seen this option on another Weebly site I manage...recently.

I could be mistaken that I saw this option, but you seem to indicate that the CAPTCHA should be there. Or it might have been a different kind of form, but I don't understand why there isn't a simple option for a CAPTCHA on this standard Contact Form. I'm mostly recieving SPAM at this point.

We recently enabled that feature for all forms, @EDAdams, so we also removed the toggle (meaning it also can't be disabled now). If you're getting spam now it means that it's an actual person doing it who is going through the flow of using the CAPTCHA. Unfortunately, it's a lot more difficult preventing an actual human from doing that; ignoring them and deleting is still the best policy when you get spammy entries.

Adam, is this feature available on the free weebly site? I want to test it before going live with upgraded site.

Hi @PopPop Yes, you should be able to toggle on captcha with a free site. Can you please confirm your site name? Thanks!

Hi @PopPop If you open the editor and click the form you will see a blue "form options" button. Once you click this you will see the toggle to turn on captcha. Just make sure to save and publish. Smiley Happy

@hhomeschoolerThere is nothing more that you need to do, if you have it tuned on, even though it does not show, it will automatically detect the spam/spoof emails being sent to you I believe Smiley Wink

I need to find out how to change or add my gmail account to the contact form submissions so I can easily access them. I have read the weebly support page on this but there is no explanation of where I can find the edit portion for the contact form. Weebly is not blocking spam in the form submissions folder and it's easier to access and reply using gmail. I can find the emails on the weebly site (very hidden in an unrelated section. Wow.) but I cannot find how to edit the contact form emails. It seems like I have to go to a different site to find things. Is it on pro sites only?

'Can someone please tell me exactly how and where to add my gmail to the contact form submissions and how to put a filter on to block spam?

Thank you!
