H1 tag element - where is it showing up?

I added the H1 third party app and added one to every page, made the font match etc - was easy enough to use.

I placed some to the body, some in the - not sure what you call it, the header/directly on top of the image, depending on what made most sense. I also modified CSS for blog titles - haven't quite figured out how to augment the font but can live with the look.

I had a friend who is a wordpress SEO guru take a look at my site, out of curiosity. She tells me that it looks like I am not using any headings (H1, H2 or H3)?

So could someone tell me how to review where the element is showing in the Inspect tool?? I don't feel confident that it did squat.

my website is www.dotsleadership.com

Lastly I will echo other posts I've read - no idea why Weebly didn't have a standard tool for H1 tagging from the outset, even if it had just been an element customers could choose to use or not.

I've enjoyed the process Weebly provided me and have learned a ton but I have begun to wonder if this is the right platform for me in the long term.  So, If ever you do focus groups and want feedback from a novice, please sign me up!

We use the H2 tag for the Paragraph Title element, so if you add one of those it should use that. We don't use H3, H4, H5, or H6, though. I believe there is a different app that will let you use those if you want to; I think the same app developer that made the H1 app also made the other one.

Thanks Adam, what do I look at to inspect that? Like after the fact how can I tell if there is a title element, which clearly my friend can't see? Using the third party one I would have expected it to show up on the Inspect tool (right click on my web page), but I don't know what I'm looking for.

That said now I'm wondering now if I didn't add any H2's even!!

I just added on to the homepage...I remember why I haven't used - it is a bold font, which I didn't prefer. But for now I added so I can see if I can find it.

Can you change the look of the text using the text editing toolbar? By that I mean select the text you added to the element, then use the + button and "b" to make it larger and bold.

I did try that, unfortunately it doesn't let me change it to 'unbold'. I also experimented with changing the Paragraph Title font on the Theme - again, no way to unbold it. The only other option would be to change the font entirely it seems, I experimented with that as well. For now I have added some Paragraph titles using the default/Questrial and just ensured they all appear the same - not quite the look I was after but can live with.

The big connundrum for me is the H1 tag that I downloaded and placed one on each page - I don't know how to know they are actually coded as H1? How can one check that? I haven't figured out what I'm looking at with Inspect (through Chrome browser)

Can you provide a link to a page of your site where you added one and let me know what text is in the H1 app element? I can check for you, though I'm sure it's using the H1 tag.

Lets try this one...

The H1 element is 'Solutions To Connect the Dots'

Whoohoo! That's promising then. I'm not sure what my friend was looking at. What tool are you inspecting with Adam?

I just used the Web Inspector in Safari, which is the same tool that you have in Chrome. If you double-click the text on your live site to select it, then right-click on it and inspect the element, it should go right to the H1 tag as that is the HTML element that contains the text.

I think you can use the Weebly editor?
Go to editor
Click Theme
Look @ bottom left for Edit HTML/CSS
Clicking that should show code

Note.....be careful here....
