Smart Quotes

This is driving me crazy. Why does Weebly use inch and foot marks instead of apostrophes and quote marks?

Is there a solution? I’ve tried copy/paste, but then my text is uneditable. So frustrating.

there are some asci html codes.....see photo below...havnt tested these yet but have used asci code many times for , line return and dots....   8220 and 8221are left and right speech marks.....not feet and inches

5'6" the same as quote marks

No. These are quote marks: “”. These are apostrophes: ‘’ What you typed were feet and inches. They should not be the same.

Are you using a Mac or Windows device? Are you able to type any special characters using the keyboard? I'm having difficulty getting any to show up, but I'm fairly positive it worked in the past.

hmmm good and interesting point      no key board has quote marks...my mums type write did

This is actually a really interesting read about the difference between the two and why there are no longer on keyboards. Although, you should be able to use a keyboard shortcut.. I'll have to check on my Windows laptop when I get home later.

U can implement the speech marks into embeded code ” just adds the charachter, nothing more
