How do I transfer all the content from Moonfruit to Weebly?

Hello,

I couldn't find any relevant articles, I'm sorry if a similar question has been posted already. I have two websites currently on Moonfruit. I want to transfer everything to Weebly, I'm now in the process of transfering my domain. I understand how the domain transfer works, but how about the content? Moonfruit has terrible service and doesn't let me make a backup of the website. They also just told me that the "don't work with FTP", so I can't download the content using Filezilla...

Does anyone have experience with transfering a website from Moonfruit? Could you share your experinece?

Thanks for your post, @jc_moon. There isn't a way right now to import content, so you'll need to build your site with us and add your content that way.

Thank you for the reply! So, I'm afraid that if I first transfer my domain, and then start building the website, all the content on moonfruit will not be accessible. I would first like to create a "dummy" website on a free Weebly domain, and when it's done, assign my actual domain to it. Is that possible?

If you leave your domain settings as they are right now (pointed to MoonFruit, in other words), then it will still be pointed there after the domain transfer completes. Once you have everything done in Weebly and are ready to switch, you can then change the domain to our default settings which will point it here. That'll create a seamless transfer for site visitors as they'll just see the site on MoonFruit until those DNS changes propagate, at which time they'll start seeing the Weebly-made site.
