App Diagnostics

Hi

Is there a way to tell if an App is tampering with the site as a whole, i.e radically slowing down the SIte Editor, freezing pages etc?

I had to remove Color Block from my site some time ago as it was impacting unrelated content (as in completely deleting it) and I am wondering if a) there is a way to diagnose which apps (if any) are causing issues; and b) if there are any Apps I need to be wary of using?

I use the following Apps:

Content Color Box

H1 Tags

Carouselstar

Accordion Toggle

Group

News Headlines

Simple Table

The Tabs (Baamboo Studios version)

I also have a Global Sidebar set up via custom coding.

As an aside I have done all the usual things vis a vis improving browser performance - uninstalling/reinstalling, reset PC to factory conditions, undertaking a variety of CMD changes & browser preference tweaks. As of yet I have not disabled my firewall (this is a personal PC not an office one) largely because this issue seemed to happen very quickly (telling me this is either related to an App or a Windows Update, for example) and it worked perfectly fine before when the firewall was still activated.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Hi Adam

It's a Weebly theme which I have adapted in terms of changing button styles, blockquote styles etc with the addition of extra code to allow for a Global Sidebar, which has been there for quite a long time, but if I can think of what I was doing on the site around the time the issue began (late October) I think I was creating new page layouts to allow for different variations of the sidebar (ie some pages with 1 local & 2 global vs only 1 global etc). I have about 4 different page types which all use an incarnation of the sidebar layout.

Again - if there is anyone I can hire to go through my site/the code etc for me to iron out the kinks I would be very happy to pay.

Hi @Re-Made If your code has been edited in anyway through Themes>Edit Html/CSS link then support will not be able to help, unfortunately. I may have missed a reply, but have you tried testing your codes one by one? The quickest way to do this is to make a copy of your site, then revert the copy site back to a standard Weebly theme. Check to make sure everything is running smoothly, then you can add your custom code in one-by-one and check the site along the way. Were you able to determine for sure that it is not one of the apps? Apologies again if I skipped over the response somewhere in this thread.

Hi Bernadette

Thanks for the idea and am making a copy now. I might actually just reach out in the community to see if there is an independent Weebly-literate coding guru who I can pay to go through it for me
