Huawei Y6S Loss of compatibility

Have had my square for a number of years connected to my Huawei Y6s phone, but had not recently used it. When I now try all is I get is 

Device Not Supported : Google is unable to verify that your device is compatible with Android. 

Goole play/store still work and the app was updated to 6.27.1

Please advise.

Hi @Ianlaing, sorry to hear you're running into this. 

I had a look at our device compatibility page and I don't see the Huawei Y6s listed. 

When a device is not listed as compatible, it means that it has not been tested thoroughly with Square's software and hardware, and we cannot guarantee its functionality.

Software and device compatibility can change over time due to updates and changes made by both Square and device manufacturers. While your Huawei Y6s may have worked with Square previously, it's possible that recent updates or changes have affected its compatibility.

I would suggest running through the following steps once more, but if they do not work you may need to consider using a different device with your Reader that this is listed as compatible on our page. 

Open Square Point of Sale App: 

1) Settings > Hardware > Card Readers > forget all card readers

2. Force-quit Square Point of Sale App

3. Open device settings 

4. Navigate to Bluetooth

5. Forget all Square Readers

6. Hold the button on the reader until the lights flash red

7. Reboot the Device

8. Re-launch the Square Point of Sale app, wait 1-2 minutes and re-pair the reader
