Appointments Embedding Issue

Hi, I am having an issue with the embed process to embed the booking flow onto my own site.

In the documentation it states I can embed the booking flow onto my site and the customer will stay on the site to complete the booking process WITHOUT the square booking flow opening in a new window.

This doesn't happen. When I click the link it openes in a new window to the square booking flow.

At this moment I am on the free trial of "Appointments Plus"

I have contacted support 3 times about this and just get fobbed off saying they will respond via email which they have never done.

Has anyone had this issue and did you resolve it?

If so how was it resolved.

Just to clarify, I have embedded the code on a WP site and a hand coded custom HTML/CSS site and it still does it.

Am I missing something or is just that square doesn't do what it's supposed to?

Thanks in advance

Hi @DarrenJ,

I've had a response from our team, and can confirm that the booking flow is expected to open in a new tab/window.

I appreciate that the Support Centre article we looked at will have caused some confusion around this, and it has now been updated to include the current expectations.

Apologies for the inconvenience this will have undoubtedly caused, and thanks again for raising it here in the Community.

Hi @DarrenJ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community for support with this - Welcome!

I've reached out to our Appointments team to ensure that the Support Centre article on this topic contains the most up to date information. My current understanding is that while the Service List is embedded, any further customer action will prompt a new secure window to support the payment and checkout flow.

I'll let you know here as soon as I have an update.

Hi @Sineaid,

Thanks for the reply.

In the documentation it states: I can embed the appointments booking flow onto my own site so when a customer wants to book an appointment they will STAY on my site and go through the whole booking flow/payment process on my site and not in a new window that opens, which, takes them to the square site to continue with the booking.

At this moment, I can embed it no problem. When I test it to go through the booking flow, it opens in a new window at the square site (which apparently it isn't supposed to do).

Hopefully I can get the answer as to why this isn't happening.

Thanks again for answering.

Regards

Darren J
