Square Bundles - Messing Up my Available Stock

I created a bundle. Total stock of the bundle is 30 items. Square is saying available bundle is the total count of one of the items in the bundle i.e. item 1 has 61 in stock, item 2 48 in stock - now bundles total available says 48 instead of the 30 I "received in stock" when it was created.

How do I fix this as we are about to launch the bundles for sale. Yes, each bundle has its own SKU. Yes each bundle was created from scratch. For $89/month, should I just use Shopify bundles that are free?

Hey there @Crazyjamlife,

It sounds like there’s a mismatch between the stock levels of your individual bundle components and the total bundle inventory. Here’s what might be happening and how to fix it:

  1. Bundle Inventory Behavior: Square calculates the available stock for bundles based on the lowest stock quantity of any component in the bundle (in this case, it’s showing 48 because that’s the stock for item 2). This is standard for inventory tracking to ensure that you can only sell as many bundles as you have of each component.

  2. How to Adjust: To ensure that the bundle reflects your desired total (30 in stock), you can manually adjust the stock count of the individual components to match the bundle stock (30 each). You can do this under Items > Inventory in your Square Dashboard.

  3. Tracking Separately: If you don’t want Square to automatically manage the inventory for each bundle component, you can adjust the bundle’s settings to not track stock based on individual items. Instead, you can manage the bundle’s total stock separately, which might be a better option for your use case.

If this doesn’t quite solve it, reaching out to Square Support for more in-depth troubleshooting might help before deciding to switch platforms.

I hope this helps and best of luck with your launch!

It won't make sense to change my overall stock for a bundle. We still have to show that we have stock for those items that are still sold individually.

The turn off tracking option is not available on all bundles. The ones I used it on, now show the lowest item count (so not truly a working option from square).

I will contact Square when time allows to see how to work with this.

@Crazyjamlife ;

I just tried to adjust my Stock level for a Bundled Item with Inventory > Receive Inventory  and I get a Message stating that this Item is a Non - Stockable unit.  I know Last year when I created Bundles I could set the Quantity of the bundle lower than my Stock for the Item but it appears something has changed.

When I click more I get information about Sell By Units, which is different than selling a Bundle.

That is nuts. Some of my bundles give messages like the items are not at the same location (we only have one location). Square is busy updating invoices like that is what we need.
