Adding items to check is duplicating modifiers
As of the latest update to square on 12/1/23, when I add an item to an open check, it is applying the modifier twice. I have the modifiers setup to have a maximum of one required modifier. The odd thing is that when it duplicates the modifiers, it is adding a different price for that modifier. I'm able to duplicate this on demand. When trying to remove the duplicated modifier, it will not let me. Says I have to select a modifier to save the changes. But it should not have two modifiers. This happens when adding items to saved checks. It doesn't happen when creating a new check and adding multiple items

Firstly, welcome to the Seller Community, and sorry to hear that you're here because you've run into trouble.
Have you done any troubleshooting so far?
I would recommend reinstalling the app if you haven't done so yet. And if you have complete troubleshooting then I recommend reaching out to our Restaurants team as soon as you can, so they can look into this for you and escalate this if needed.

I have done all kinds of troubleshooting. I reinstalled the app, I deleted the modifiers and recreated. I deleted the items and recreated. I've sent an email to the restaurants team with all my troubleshooting I've done. I have pictures of the screen when it happens. I've figured out this happens when adding a duplicate of an item that is already on the saved check. It only happens when adding an item to a previously saved check. I can add duplicates without issue on a new check. I was hoping that this isn't an isolated issue and posted here to see if anyone is experiencing it. This started happening after the latest update.
Thanks for the reply, I hope I hear back soon from the restaurants team, but since it is now the weekend, I'll have to deal with this issue for two more days at least.

Thank you for the quick follow-up, Aaron. I haven't seen any reports of this by other Sellers yet. Since the update is fairly recent and the situation only happens with a particular process it might take some time for other Sellers to find it.
On a side note, with Square Restaurants Plus you do get 24/7 Customer Support. The Restaurants team can be reached at 855-700-6000.

I know the number and have called.many times. The issue is that the engineering team for the application doesn't work on the weekends. So if what I think is wrong will require an application update after all of my troubleshooting.
