We don't have a printer, don't need a printer. Every one of our terminals at all locations is locking up saying " printer issue" and "not configured". We have been using the terminals for two years now without a printer and now it locks up because we don't have printers?

Hello @agarland !
I agree with @VanKalkerFarms where a little clarification on what exact system(s) you're using would help, but I may be able to help with getting your printer issue fixed.
On your devices, head to More > Settings > Hardware > Printers (if on a handheld terminal, go to External Printers)
On this screen, there may or may not be printers listed. If there are, chances are there's a compatible printer somewhere on the network. This shouldn't give you the errors you're seeing though. Head to the Profiles tab. On this tab, I bet you'll see a profile in an error state. If you tap on that profile, scroll to the bottom and Delete Profile. Do this for any profiles you see here. This is the nuclear option and will stop all printing on your devices. Your onboard handheld terminal will still work for receipts though.
That should clear up any print errors you're seeing. I'd also recommend making sure the software and device's OS are all on the latest version as well.

If you have Square terminals then you do have printers as they are built in to the Square Terminal.
Maybe something accidentally got changes in the settings.

Now I am having second thoughts about your use of "terminal". You may have meant that in the general not actually a Square Terminal which is a specific item. what Square device or other device are you using?

Thanks for the help. I ended up calling tech support and had to do a factory reset on the handheld terminal. We use it as an additional device to our Square POS rather than as a stand alone POS. We have 8 locations and 16 terminals so it was a problem. Had to reconnect everything again with device codes, etc but all good now. Thanks again.

I'm glad the reset worked for you @agarland11 !
That's odd that the connected mode was hanging on a printer: it shouldn't try to find printers at all except for the customer receipt. And in all honesty I've never had the customer receipt work for me on any of my connected terminals. I always end up reprinting from the transactions screen. Maybe I should try a factory reset too! 🙂
