Can you put customers into the terminal and keep their credit card on file for weekly purchasers

Hello @Micasalaundry1 !

 

Yes, you can do this with any Square device, including the Terminal.

 

For Card on File purchases, you just need to link the card to the customer, which they can do from the point of sale itself. You'll need to enable the Card on File option by going to More -> Settings -> Checkout -> Customer Management and configuring your device as you need.

 

However, there is an additional step you'll need to do to stay compliant and help reduce the risk of chargebacks. On your dashboard at Dashboard -> Customer Directory -> Settings -> Card on File there is a form you need to download and give to every customer that has their card stored. This is an authorization form stating it is ok for you to store their card information and use it for their transactions. Keep those authorization forms somewhere secure just in case someone challenges you.
