Register Home Screen Changed Due to One Keystroke

My manger was adding a new tile to the customized left side of the home screen (this is a square register). Somehow she clicked something and the entire home screen has changed. See image.

1) The keyboard (with light green numbers) was on the right, it is no longer there

2) On the left were all of our categories that had matching pictures, no longer there

3) The left now has colored boxes that need clicked to enter different parts of the system. This includes all types of information from customer information, item inventory, etc. This was never on the screen before and nor should it be. My staff have no reason to be able to look at inventory or customer information. 

4) The menu items at the bottom of the screen were not there previously either. 

 

The system is virtually unusable. It takes three clicks to get the keypad. The categories no longer have pictures. I have tried looking through support. I have used AI. I have worked through the system for at least 3 hours, and I cannot figure out what she did and how to fix it. I have not bothered to call support; I have no way to explain what has happened. 

 

And yes, we have restarted the machine (s) numerous times. 

 

Any ideas?

I can definitely see how frustrating your situation would be. I understand that you have restarted your device several times, but have you done a Factory Reset? With a Factory Reset, it will restore your device back to how it was when you first received it.

 

Before doing so though, just a few notes worth mentioning.

 

Performing a factory reset will remove the following:

  • General settings such as date, time, language, etc.

  • Assigned modes

  • Printer/device profiles assigned to the device

  • Previous software updates and app updates

  • Pending offline payments. Any pending offline payments will be permanently lost and the funds will not be received from your customers. Learn how to process offline payments.

When you are comfortable doing so, feel free to follow these steps below to Factory Reset your device:

  1. Go to ≡ More > Settings > Hardware.
  2. Tap General > About Register.
  3. Scroll down to Factory Reset > Confirm Factory Reset > Reset.
