Getting Additional Info on Sales Item

Hello.

 

I need students to purchase a membership on the square register (retail plus) and force our cashiers to put in a student ID and name (text fields) that is required when ringing up the transaction.  This is not needed for all of our other products.  I know I can do it with an online payment link--I can have 2 custom fields in there.  But how do you do it on the square register for just one product?  Is it possible?

You can create custom fields for Customers in the Directory.... Maybe Set a Group for Membership.  You can also create a Custom field for Student ID.

Thanks for your response.  I did setup custom fields in the customer directory.  But how do I force our cashier to enter in the info for that item alone but not all others.  I also don't know who will be purchasing a membership so I don't think I can set up a group.
