why's it taking forever to update balance
?? After a sale over 2 hours still not updated

Unfortunately it's not possible to provide a reason - did you opt for any of the instant transfer options ? If yes, then probably contacting Customer Support would be your best option - they have the ability to look at user Account details - the volunteers here cannot do that. If you didn't opt for any of the instant transfer options, the normal transfer time is approximately 36 hours or 1 to 2 business days (Monday thru Friday). If the transaction happened over a weekend or on a holiday, the time takes a bit longer. Per this site, Square has not reported any system issues today that would interfere with the instant transfer option. (We use this site when we think that something may not be working as intended.)

It took 3 hours almost, but it finally updated. I've opted in to instant transfers, and certainly didn't change anything in my settings to make it take longer. I have a square debit card, etc. It's actually taken just under an hour for it to update on most previous transactions, but did take about 2 minutes 1 time.

My in person sales are appearing within 2 minutes on my Square Stands. Even if I look on the Dashboard they are also there when I go in the back office. How long that is, I am not sure but it is not a 2 hour window. On your POS are you seeing the Transaction under Transactions? If so I recomment Printing out a Receipt for you to have proof of the transaction when talking to Square. Are you sure this sale went through that it is not showing in your Updated balance? Was this a Cash or CC sale? Cash sales do not show up in a Square Balance for a transafer or debit card linked to Square.
How is your Internet connection or how was it after the sale to upload the Sales record to Square?

It was a sale via prepaid debit card, it was showing up in transactions, but took 2.5 hours before it finally landed in my balance.

At least now you got the payment and a Transacation number to talk to Square if needed. I wonder if this delay had anything to do with the MS issue yesterday? I did not get my normal Saturday deposit because of this issue with MS computer glitches. I hope all works out.
I also wonder if this has anything to do with it being a prepaid card? The ones I take I have never had it take that long to show in transacations.
