Modifiers on Bundled Items -- O

Recently my supermarket began selling prepared sandwiches. These sandwiches are configured as 'bundled items' in order to keep track of stock levels. I want to set up text based modifiers on the sandwiches for customizations however it appears that bundled items cannot have modifiers so I am wondering how other users are dealing with this.

Example Use Case: A customer comes to the register and asks for a sandwich without tomatoes. Currently I ring up the sandwich, print the kitchen ticket and then write 'NO TOMATO". I would like to have a free text box in order to enter this info and print it directly.

I have read of a solution where there is an item called "Food Mods" which itself has the free text modifier there. Not pretty, but seems workable, I may try this out. Is this the workaround that people are using?

Ok, so I tried what I wrote above and it does not work at all. But I did notice the "Add a note" option on the Register after selecting the item. Adding the note here does add it to the kitchen ticket, so I guess this is what I am looking for and I should have noticed it beforehand.

Hey @lennys26,I'd be happy to look into this further.

Can you provide the names of 1-2 of the bundled items, so I can take a closer look?

@RobynR My bundled items include -- "el capo" or "italian".

I think I missed the [obvious] "Add a Note", which I believe is the correct way to do what I wanted, but if you think otherwise, please let me know.

Thank you @lennys26. I'm going to tag some Square Champions to see if they have any other recommendations or insight.

I would like to see an example of what the bundled items are, however you could have items set up as individual items, not bundles, but they all need to be run up for quick example

Add Bread to Cart $2
Add Tomato to cart $2

Add Salami to Cart  $2

Add Cheese to cart $2

Each has a price and is set up in the menu for assembly through purchase, I assume the bundle gets discounted when combined. Maybe its a $5

Then, when You add 2 items to cart you save $1 add 3 items to cart you save $2 or whatever through a discount set up in the discount screen.

use rules like: When customer buys EXACTLY 3 items offer $2 discount on the following any 3 from this list

Thats my first thought when seeing this problem
