Issue with Customers selecting Cash instead of CC on POS Payment Screen

We have had this issue happen twice in the last few weeks.  A well-trained employee has turned the payment screen to a customer before the customer has inserted their credit card.  The customer sees the payment screen and clicks on the quick cash option thinking they are saying how much they want to be charged to their card, not realizing that they are selecting cash.  This has happened a couple of times and I have even brought it to our employee's attention but apparently, when we are busy they keep turning the screen to the customer too soon and we have lost out on almost $150 in sales.  What have other businesses done to help prevent this?  Are there any changes that could be made to the payment screen so customers are not so confused?  This happened on our regular Square Stand Point of Sale - attached is a photo of the screen I am referring to.

What we do is never turn the screen to them.  We'll tell them to "Please Tap, or insert your card" and point at the reader.  once that is complete, which is almost instant,  we then prompt if they want a printer or texted receipt.  ONLY then if they say yes do we turn it to them to type in their info. 

I have done this exact thing once this year just in a rush, so I just had to re-ring the sale and put it on their card and then returned the previous accidental "cash" ticket. There are times there are 3 POS systems running and we are avergaging 2-3 transactions a minute between them, so things get hectic.

also funny is how many people insert and then tap with their finger on the reader.

Our employees get tips and need to turn the screen to customers paying with CC to select the tipping option though...

that happens on the screen before this?  I don't know as I've never gotten tips just paid to do my job so I've never played with any tipping options in Square.

The tipping screen happens after this screen once a customer has tapped or inserted their card.
