Can not open square on Android Tablet

Downloaded newest version from PlayStore. Password and email are ok to sign in, but screen rolls to Device Management. Enable Location - OK; Enable Nearby Devices OK; Enable Push Notifications OK. Enable Phone Management NOT OK. Can not get checked box and thus Square will not open. I went to Settings and tried all combos. Can anyone tell me what I am missing?

@Lupine1 What version of android software are you on?  and tablet brand?  Not everything is compatible.

It is a Samsung Galaxy, Tab 7 Lite.Square version is 6.63.1 - This tablet worked when we last used it as a simple Point of Sale with a contactless Square reader in 2024. We are wine sellers at farmers markets in Washington State. Under a tent, in a parking lot - the darn POS mustwork or we are simply out of luck. Thanks for responding!

When we try to open Square it displays Devid=ce settings then 4 sub titles with check boxes for Enable Location Services

Enable Phone management, Enable nearby Devices and Enable Push Notifications. Were we to take action to allow the check boxes to be checked- another tab at the bottom  - Start Using Square would go from Gray to Black and I think Square would thenopen. We can not get the Enable Phone Mnagement check box to check. It refers us to Settings and when we follow that prompt - it appears no combo of selected options In App Info - work to get us running.

@Lupine1 4 things to try.

#1:  "To enable Android Device Management on a Samsung tablet, go to your device settings, navigate to "Security" or "Privacy," then find the option for "Device administrators" or "Device management" and select the appropriate app to activate the feature; for most Samsung devices, this will involve selecting a Google account and enabling the necessary management options within your Google settings. "

#2 enable developer mode: To enable developer mode on an Android tablet, you can go to Settings, then About device or About phone, and tap Build number seven times. You might need to enter your PIN or password to enable developer mode.

#3 Make sure you have the latest android version

#4  Uninstall and reinstall the app, but I think you did that already.

#5 You can also try downloading the beta version of the square point of sale app or the retail version of the app.  they both have free intros and work with your existing account, the interface is different.
