why do domain transfers take so long and why are there ZERO hand holding or updates?

I'm just a teeny business, but my website is a big deal to me.

Transfering it from another host and online publisher to Square felt like a big deal.
That has been magnified by the reality that not my original hoster nor Square offers ANYthing more than - "your domain is transfering" with a nebulous - "this could take up to 7 days" banner at the top of the page.

Dude. It's 7 days in less than 24 hours and zero communication or update.
That seems ratchet imho.

Hey @JKarp

Sorry to hear about the lengthy time in domain transferring.  Some go with a quick transfer and other an take the full 7 days.  As long as all the information is pointed correctly then tt will get transferred over.

Like you, Im just a small one man business myself and I do take a lot of pride in my website , always have and always will so I definitely understand where you are coming from.  There just really isn't any updates that can be shared if it is still in the transferring stages and I don' know of any other platform that gives updates without calling in after the allotted transfer window.

I've been with over a handful of different hosting sites over the years.

If you don't see anything published tomorrow,  would give a call in and have one of the reps take a look into the transfer to make sure everything was pointed correctly.
