Status of custom item indicator request?

What is the status on the feature request for customizing the item indicator label?

I put my upcoming items online so people can learn about them before the release date. I want the banner to say something like COMING SOON, not OUT OF STOCK. It's incorrect, looks like I can't manage my inventory, and doesn't tell the customer it will be available soon. Turning off the indicator as previously suggested will frustrate the customer trying to add it to their cart.

I found an old thread from over 2 1/2 yrs ago and doesn't show up when I check out the "redesigned feature request experience" for me to be able to click the gold star to upvote it. The redesigned feature only goes back to March of last year on page 56.

An update and visible thread or an immediate customizable indicator would be appreciated.

At this time, it isn't possible to customize the Out of stock message (formerly Sold out) for your Square website, @bradblackman.

I understand how a Sold message may help to differentiate between those one-of-a-kind items, and items that might be available again soon - this would be considered a feature request at this time. In the meantime, what you can do is toggle this setting off so that there is not a message shown when inventory hits 0 (Online Dashboard > Settings > Item Settings). I hope this helps!

As an artist most of my items are one of a kind, so I would really like to be able to change the text to "Sold" instead of "out of stock".  I was a software engineer for 20 years so I'm pretty confident this would be a fairly easy feature to implement and it would benefit a lot people who create one of a kind items.

Just bumping this 4 year old feature request. It would be extremely helpful to be able to customize the Out of Stock text.

Would love if there is an update where we can manage custom indicators! As an online home decor store we would love to be able to add multiple custom indicators that say "New" "Best Seller" "Designer's Pick" etc.

The request is simple: let us edit the wording "Out of Stock" to something more meaningful for our business. We would certainly prefer "Sold" but others may need different wording.

Can someone please tell me where to find the editable stock status tags so that I can change it from "Out of stock" to "Sold" when an item has sold.

Having "Out of stock" displayed is inappropriate for my type of items.

Thanks for your post, and for providing some insight as to why the inventory badges in their current form, are not the ideal solution for your business.

I can see that there is support for this feature request, so I've gone ahead and merged your post with an Ideate thread on the topic. 

This allows our product team to gauge Seller demand, and allows you to keep track of any updates.

As you'll see, the current status of the request is 'Not Planned', but that could change when our product teams next review the Ideate boards.
