@Ckmisskelly more than likely you should be ok.  Chargebacks are one of those things that will red flag to make sure you are not a high risk of not getting paid on credit card processing since this is the actual way the loan gets paid back.

On your chargeback, was the card dipped/tapped or did you swipe the card or key the card manually?

@Ckmisskelly You can pretty much guarantee you will not win any dispute unless the card was dipped/tapped because of the EMV shift that happened a few years ago.  Any online transaction is considered a card not present and is a higher liability transaction to begin with.

Now as a side note, feel free to sue the customer in small claims court for the amount owed.  Just because he got a chargeback does not mean he wouldn't owe you in a court of law where your evidence would matter.  If it was a significant amount like over $1000, I would seriously consider it if I could do it myself or turn it over to a collection agency.

"If a merchant suspects that you have used chargebacks as a form of "friendly fraud", they are within their legal right to file a lawsuit against you and pursue criminal charges, if applicable."

Now this is not between you and square but you and the customer.  Square is actually at the mercy of the credit card issuer in most of these situations.

But I would just reiterate in your request for more info that you considered it friendly fraud by the customer and provided all the info and especially if it is your only one.  This isn't a guarantee, but the truth is the best defense always.

I was denied after paying off 6 or 7 loans early  because I had 4 or 5 charge backs out of hundreds of happy customers ! i am in the home service business hard to make everyone happy out of thousands! I haven't had a loan offer in months! I like square a lot but get frustrated with their letting a computer make the loan decisions for them! It is impossible to get a straight answer from a human being and the responses are general keep trying, you are not eligible at this time.no reason .I am a honest business and usually give way more than i agree too.THEY SAY WE ARE PARTNERS REALLY?
