I am creating a snack store online and I want to offer shipping to classrooms. They should be able to enter there room number and directions. How can i add this as a shipping option. I will be going around the school to deliver the items. How can i do this?

There are a couple of different ways you can go about this.

The easiest would be to have a popup on the website asking the customer to enter their room number in the Notes to Seller field that's on the payment entry screen on the website. You can enable the Notes to Seller field in the site's settings: Dashboard -> Online -> Settings (or Shared Settings) -> Checkout. Look for the Customer Input section near the bottom of the page.

If you want to get really snazzy with it, you could set up QR Code Self serve. This is where each classroom would get a specific QR code. Your customers scan that to order, and the order ticket will use the classroom number as the name of the ticket. To do this, your website will have to be in Order Online mode--most retail sites are set up as Shop All--and you will have to create the codes. There's a great help file showing you how to do this.

Is there a way to ask the customer for the room numbe there in? Right now it just says add a note for seller and i want it to be clear that the customer has to enter there room number there

@joshuasingh499I can think of two different ways to do this, both of which require the customer to read, so your results will vary.

Popup: Create a popup stating that they need to enter their room number in the Notes section. You can create the popup at Dashboard -> Online -> Communications -> Popups

Create a text modifier: Dashboard -> Items -> Modifiers -> Create New. Choose Text and set up the modifier as you see fit. Then go to each item you have available on the site and add that modifier to it. If you make it a mandatory modifier, your customers will have to enter the room number. Problem is that if they order multiple items, they'll have to enter the room number for each item.

Gotcha, that sounds perfect. Ive already implemented the popup method. I just now need to add a option for that classroom delivery somewhere in checkout so it adds a small fee. Do you know how i can do this? Maybe if they select the option or click the box for classroom delivery it requires them to add room number (that would be more ideal and the dream)

@joshuasingh499You can add delivery fees to your delivery fulfillment type.

Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Fulfillment -> Pickup & Delivery -> Delivery.

I see Square charges 50 cents for this since i have the free plan. I dont really want to pay this 50 cents bc it just seems like im paying just for the option and better organizing and no real service. Is there a way to avoid it? 9
