Add items from Woocommerce
I have a square account with over 9000 products from our brick and mortar store. Looking to either manually add or sync our products from our online store (10 or less) into our square account so that way when someone purchases, we can categorize it. Support just said this is not possible but I find that hard to believe, as there is a sync setting on the Woocommerce side, just not sure whether to choose Woocommerce or Square for the sync option. Obviously do not want the 10 products from woocommerce overriding our inventory of over 9000 that is in there currently. Thanks!

As I see this is your first post let me welcome you to the Square users form.
Since you are using an outside webhost like I am, the integration between Square and your Webhost might just be for accepting CC payments. So Woocommerce might allow you to connect Square instead of other Credit Card processors. When I used Square on my website with the Square integration, my Square transactions would show the Total payment as a Custom Amount. To see which Items I sold I still had to look at my Item sales on my website itself.
So here is how I got around that. The end of each Day I would download my Sales from my website, use excel and a Pivot table to get the quantity sold of each SKU / GTIN etc and then have that subtracted from Square.
Then I started putting all my inventories into an accounting software program, Ran Square and my website through the accounting software. This gave me a Total remaining and would upload those Quantities to Square.
Now to transfer the 10 items from Woo to Square you can do this manually through the dashboard or export them as a csv from Woo and Upload those 10 items to Square. This should take about 10 minutes.
If you leave the Token field empty in Square this makes it a NEW item in addition to your 9000 plus items.

With Square and importing you can add items or OVERWRITE your entire catalog or just edit a few items. Just before trying this I do reccommend Downloading your entire catalog and saving it incase something goes sideways.

Thank you for you insightful answer! So as far as this part:

If I were to go this route, would these products technically still be "synced"? Or when I make a sale on woocommerce, I still have to go the route you were saying and manually track the website sales vs the in person.
Thank you again!

I am not sure since I have no idea what is involved with the Sync between Woo and Square.
Is it just a sync so you can accept CC payments through Square instead of other parties or in conjuction with other parties like PayPal for example? Does the Sync adjust the Inventory that was sold on Woo and subtract this quantity from Squares Inventory? My Sync did not subtract the inventory Items sold.
If the sync also deducts the sold items from Square then its Fully Sync.
If your Square Reports it as Custom amount, then its only a sync of the Credit card processor.
You may have to talk to who created the Sync between the two to find out if they have this one, or if there are others out there.
The other thing to look into is Zapier. When A sale is made on Woo, decrease Squares inventory. Not even sure that is able to be done.
