Upload Option for customized orders
Hello community.
I am a new user of square. As I was setting up an ecommerce site for my online store. I create and design custom t-shirts, mugs and more using vinyl and sublimation. I often use photos my customers would like incorporated into a design I already have or they sometimes like to use their own design. However, I noticed there was not an option for them to upload a photo of their choice before ordering/paying. I contacted the help center and they explained square does not offer this feature, yet. I am not sure if there is another post like this out there, but they suggested I share my thoughts and suggest this option. So here I am, suggesting a modifier/option of some sort where our customers could select an item and upload an image they wish to use on a particular design. I think this would benefit all the way around!

Hi
I sell customised edible printing toppers and at first I had it set up to share the link on the individual item page calling it image upload. This went through to my drop box. I signed up for the free drop box plan then the customer would upload their image or file there.
I tried it for a few months, but I often had random people not purchasing the item and would just get random files they upload without letting me know what product it was they were trying to order as they had not purchased nothing.
So I swapped it around and put the link within the order email as a button, so when a customer purchases an item the link to upload there image/file is within there successful order email. This way I could match up the order with the photo and it was the only way around it.
This worked perfectly so on the item description I have it state that you upload your image/file using the link from your order sales email.
A few weeks ago I swapped over to cognito forms. (fab) looks great, works great as I have custom online areas where people can upload an inspiration photo and its called a custom quote form for various items I sell. As I also make custom acrylic toppers etc.
Hope these few ideas help you to decide which way to go!
good luck
