Starting Off

Hello,

Trying to make use of this system's seemingly intuitive UI, but I suppose it still needs some training.

My business will be a life coaching/online personal training platform. Generally I'd like to set up for people to book with me online. Seems pretty straightforward except:

1. There isn't an option for the appointment bookings to charge immediately thereafter the session. I want their credit card info so I don't have to chase them down, but I also don't want paying upfront to deter them-- especially if they may cancel or something. I talked with support this evening and they showed me how to do it from the customer directory, which checks out but even with 10 clients it seems like that'd be quite a bit of work that should be automated

2. I'd like to set up for people to do a first session free consultation, but when I also don't want them to be able to do that more than once. Again I suppose I could go into the customer directory and add a note for myself to know not to let them book a free consultation again, but that seems like a step that can be removed fairly easily with the system.

3. I'd like to be able to give people the option to bring a friend or two in, for a reduced price per head. I.e a 1:1 is usually 70$, but a session with a group of 3 pays me 150 which makes their price 50 per person. I saw the "merge clients" feature earlier so I'll keep browsing.

I'm going to keep browsing and trying to figure it out myself, but it would help if anyone has some experience with what I mentioned-- currently I'm just kind of fumbling around in the dark until I find the features or "extra steps" ways to do what I need to. Thanks!!

Unfortunately Square is not a one size fits all solution but, over the years I've found that to be true with other services.   You may need to find a service that specializes in your profession whereas they have everything you need, no need to reinvent.   There are several platforms out there that may possibly have all the features you need.   Or it may be possible to find a Developer or Programmer that can custom code a site for you.  Square does have a Developer Forum.    Square also has a Market Place where you can find 3rd party apps that integrate with Square's processing services.  Just something to check out.   And hopefully some of the other volunteer Community Members have some suggestions or advice as there's quite a bit of hands-on experience here using Square's Hardware and Apps.

Okay duly noted, I'll check out the developer forum and market place as you said. Thank you!
