How to use discount code?

I am starting to offer art classes and am using the appointment class function to schedule.  As a test I created a free discount code for friends to sign up and I also tried to sign up and use the discount code.  At checkout there is no option to use a discount code, only a gift certificate.  It only gave me the option to use a credit card or gift card.  I was expecting it to give me the option to use apple pay and other options.  What am I doing wrong that isn't allowing the discount code or all pay options?

Unfortunately at this time, the ability for a customer to add a discount to a Square Appointment is not available. I would recommend posting a Feature Request on Ideate, our ideas and improvements boards for Square products. If you end up creating a post, feel free to post the link on this thread. The more eyes we get on the post, the more likely our product managers can implement a change.

In the meantime, please let me know if you have any other questions.

Do you have suggestions on my second question re forms of payment? How/why isn’t it giving me more options than just credit card & gift card for payment?

@Lulaharp, unfortunately, the payment options listed on Square Appointments are the only options available at this time.  Apple Pay and Google Pay are not accepted on Square Appointments online booking sites yet. Our Appointments team are aware that this feature is not available and have hopes of implementing it this year, but do not have a concrete timeline.

Posting on Ideate, would still be the next step here. You aren't doing anything wrong, or missing a setting or anything, this just isn't a feature quite yet. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention though! I hope that answers your question more thoroughly.

A follow-up question for this issue...  Is there a way to offer a class at two different price points?  If I set the class for $50 before the end of the month, then all classes booked after the next are $75... will that mess up the classes booked at the lower price?
