Appointments converted items to services, checkout links don't work, new item checkout links add tax
HELP! We're a dog training business that offers sessions and classes, and we sell a few supplies, tracking inventory with Square and set up a Square Online site strictly for supplies.
I had ALL of our items set up under Square's Item Library. Services (class, sessions) were all created without sales tax, all supplies with sales tax (created under the Sales Tax setting). Here in MI, it's a 6% sales tax on items, no tax on services.
I recently started Square Appointments to test functionality, and converted some items/services over to Square's services for Appointments, not realizing it would completely remove these from my Item Library with their online checkout link functionality. I use the links for these services on our website for class registration. Now the links don't work, and I cannot convert the services back to how they were as items.
I tried creating a new Item for class deposits in the Library as a work around, and designated "no sales tax" within the new item, and created the online checkout link. When I test the checkout link, it always adds "Taxes (Michigan, US)" to the order total.
I also went to the Square Online > Settings > Sales Tax and unchecked and disabled EVERYTHING I could find in there. It STILL didn't work.
i saw a work around with Appointments for an online booking widget, but this isn't conducive to our process. I just cancelled my Appointments free subscription in hopes it would help. So far, no.
I'm extremely frustrated and need my clients to be able to register for classes on our website without being charges sales tax, NOW. Any ideas???

Quick update: I tried checking out with these new items on the Square Mobile app and it does add tax, even if I share a link for the order. *shrug*?
