Setting up Subscriptions - there is no option for 'Allow Customers to Subscribe'
I have created an online checkout link, but there is no option for 'Allow Customers to Subscribe' as per the instructions. How do I set this up so I can take recurring payments?

Hey @vanrossd,
Thanks for reaching out!
Subscription checkout links can be created by going to Online Checkout from your Square Dashboard, then press "Create Checkout Link" and select "Collect a payment":
Then turn on "Accept recurring payments":
This is done a little differently from creating the item with your normal item inventory.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Seamus,
I have set this up and it all looks the same as above, but when I go into the Subscriptions tab, it tells me again to set it up in the Online Checkout.
It also says to allow customers to subscribe - how do I do this?

What does your checkout link look like @vanrossd?
Does it have an option to pay weekly/monthly/quarterly (depending on how you set it up)?

@vanrossd it looks like "Accept recurring payments" is off in that screen shot - are you able to turn it on then save?

When I saved it, the toggle was green. It won't allow me to edit that section now.
If I try to do it again, the screen now looks like this and doesn't have the option for Collecting Payments
I also need to work out how to start the payments on 1st March monthly, then end after 6 payments

I wonder if it may be worth looking into Recurring Invoices instead - these have more options to make recurring payments than Checkout Links do, including the ability to end a recurring payment after a set number of payments.
The downside compared to checkout links is that you'd need to email your customers a recurring invoice to have them agree to save their payment details for ongoing payments.
I'm not sure why exactly we're seeing different options when setting up checkout links! While I'm not able to look further into your account via our Seller Community forum, our support team will be able to look further into this for you and get a little more context into what may be happening here. You can call on 1800 760 137. Lines are open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time.
