Hello
Does anyone know if it is possible to set a variety on a product on the online store as one item, so if There is Variety A and B on the product then if the person buys Variety A, no one else can buy Variety A and/or B. I am running a Custom made Glass Gardens shop where the products can come with or without the lids and extras and the thing is that each one of them is unique and cannot be replicated exacly the same. I would like to have each option on the same item in the online store without the possibility of people buying multiple of the same item, so if someone buy one variety all the rest show as unavailable. I don't want to have the extras as a separate Variate on themselves as they keep ruining the Facebook store once uploaded showing that the Whole set cost £10 when in truth costs a lot more.
Thank you

As another business which has this problem we no longer give options - the purchase has to be made with a lid - it makes it far easier to sell with square online etc and inventory. It might make the product more expensive but the brain ache has gone.

Hi there @MyEcoPlants, welcome to the Seller Community 🙂
Good question, with Squares inventory tracking, this should be simple to set up.
Stock actions allow you to adjust stock levels and apply reasons. In this case, you can create your item with the two variations, and ensure you set the stock level to one.
These inventory levels sync over to your Square Online item library and your inventory will decrease automatically in your Square Item Library when customers buy items from Square Online.
Setting the stock level to one will mean your items are listed as out of stock once they have been sold.
To add stock levels to your items:
From your online Square Dashboard:
Visit Items & Orders > Item Library in your online Square Dashboard.
Select an item from the list.
To edit inventory by item variation, you can click on the variation row.
Under Stock Action, enter the reason for adjusting your stock.
Click Save to confirm your update.
Customers will then be able to select the item they prefer when visiting your site.

Hi Alegra
Thank you for your reply, although I have already set all my items the same way as you mentioned and that does not help me out with my problem. In this way if I set 2 variations of the same Glass Jar (with and without lid) people can buy each one of them, meaning they can buy 2 when in fact there is only 1 item with 2 variations. I was wondering if it was possible to have a Stock for 1 item and then the Variations as a either A or B.
