Square on the bar

Hi, I am about to start using Square at my new bar which is counter service only. It is a busy bar so there are multiple people working on the bar. We want to set it up that when server A users the till, puts in the drinks and then walks away, someone else (server B) can then login to the till, do a transaction and then when server A logs back in they see the transaction they were working on. I can'w work out how to set this up - is it even possible?

Hi @davidQCC - welcome to the Seller Community and Square ๐Ÿ™‚

It sounds like Open Tickets might work well for you. They function like tabs, allowing you to add items as needed until your customer is ready to pay. You can include details such as table numbers, and any team member can access and edit an open ticket.

To turn on Open Tickets on your device:

  1. From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap More.

  2. Tap Add-ons > Open Tickets > Add to Point of Sale.

You can find the steps to create, close, split, void and so on, Open Tickets in our support centre here.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Square Champion

Hey @davidQCC - @Breffni has outlined the best way to do this with Square for sure. Open tickets work really well and have the benefit of sinking across all devices too.

Just so you know, they are also manual - so the servers current tab won't open if they log back in. It there isn't any hot switching between servers.

The type of system you're talking about is very bar centric and a bit of a specialist system (normally with key fobs too).
