Hi, I have just set up my new Square Register.
I am having trouble locking my square register behind a pin when the register is not in use. I just want the added security to know that no one can access the Square Register if we are broken into for example.
I have set up all the team permissions but I'm still having trouble locking the register.
If anyone could help me with this that would be great.
Thanks
Steve

Hey @TheOrangeFrog90, welcome to the Square Seller Community!
Although there isn't a way to activate a Pin for your Square Register within the device's settings, you set up a Team Passcode that you and your team members can use when logging in to the device using Team Management.
With shared Team Permissions, anyone can accept payments while logged into your account without needing a passcode. To set permissions for anyone accepting payments as a team member:
From your Online Square Dashboard:
- Visit Staff > Team > Permissions in your online Square Dashboard.
- Select Team Permissions.
- Create or generate a random team passcode. Record and share this passcode with your team.
- Select the permissions you’d like all team members to have. If a team member tries to access an area you haven’t selected, they’ll need a passcode from a team member with the correct permissions enabled to proceed.
- Click Save.
From your Square Point of Sale:
- From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap More > Settings > Security > Passcodes.
- Turn Passcodes on.
- Turn Allow Team Passcode on.
- If you haven’t already set team permissions from your online Square Dashboard, tap Edit & create a Team Passcode.
- Select the permissions you’d like all team members to have. If a team member tries to access an area or function you haven’t selected, they’ll need a passcode from a team member with the correct permissions enabled to proceed.
- Save.
At this point, any team member using the set Team Passcode will be able to accept payments and access areas and functions of the point of sale you’ve selected for Team Permissions. To access restricted areas and functions, you’ll need to enter a passcode with the correct permissions enabled.
Hope this helps!
