Payroll: How to update an employee's email address?

It appears like we can not edit any employee email address within the Square Dashboard. Is there a method to do this?  We have a couple employees who want to update their email address and I was unable to edit them from the Employees menu or from within Payroll.

@VCB - Happy to help advise. You are right, you are only able to edit an employee’s e-mail address if they have not yet accepted their pay with Square Payroll. Having said that, employees are able to update their own e-mail address from their Square Payroll employee dashboard. Learn to navigate the Employee Dashboard

I and my spouse are the only employees - I did the set up and was not ever given an opportunity to put an email address in yet there is one there for one of us but not the other. Are you saying that the only way to correct this is to remove ourselves and re-enter? I suspect that will not resolve the issue since there was never an option to put in an email address initially that I could find. How can this be fixed?

@wantssupport I'm sorry for the frustration this has caused. It would be worth calling our CS team about this if you haven't already. A Payroll specialist can take a closer look and make sure everything is set up correctly for you and your spouse.

My staff member forgot her email address and login, so when she makes a password reset it is sending it to an email address she can no longer access. She needs to get a new login/password and to edit her current email address.

From the Team tab, click the employee and hit edit in the personal information section. Then she'll receive the reset link once she selects 'forgot pw'

Thank you Justin but how will she receive her password retrieval if her email address is an old one she can no longer access??

You as the owner of the Square account can change her email from the Team tab in Dashboard. Once changed, tell her to click forgot pw at the login page

Same issue here and there is NO WAY as the owner to change the current email for a employee!

Just don't get it? Forgot password doesn't help if the reset link goes to an email address they can't log into!

We also have the same issue.  An employee does not remember her password to the Team app, and no longer has access to the original email she provided us.  So we need to change the email address, as she cannot access the app to do that herself.  But there does not seem to be any way to do this.  This is in Team and does not require that you are using Payroll service I think, though we ARE using Square Payroll.

Are you able to go into the Team section on your Dashboard as the owner? There you can change her email address since she doesn't have access to the old one. 

 

If you run into any trouble, you can reach out to our CS Team directly. They will be able to take a deeper look in our end.
