Hi, LadyFoxtrot. I like to connect my invoices to an in-person payment directly on my Square POS. From your Square POS menu, press "More" from your menu. Go to Invoices. It then takes you to a screen that lists all of your invoice details. Find the correct invoice and press the arrow on the right side of the screen to go to the next screen. The next screen allows you to add a payment and run it through your POS. I don't do this very often, but I do have one vendor who pays her invoice by check every month. I have found this is the best way to track the payment as well as balance my drawer at the end of the day. Hope that helps!

Go to the invoice view from a computer, select the invoice you'd like to add the payment to. Then there is an option to manually add a payment to an invoice.

@Joe any chance I can do just this WITHOUT sending the invoice?

this is my scenario: I run a dogminding business. There are times, I want to prepare payments via an invoice so that when the pooches are collected I can (or my husband) collect payment via tap at collection time.

so can I avoid having to send it?

thanks, Resi

@Resi - stepping in for Joe.

There isn't a way to prepare an invoice. Square invoices are designed to be sent. However, the customer can pay the invoice in-person after they pick up their pooch.

From the Invoices tab, select the invoice > Add Payment

You can create a ticket for the customer with all the appropriate charges and save it and then when customer comes in -bring up saved ticket and collect payment. You have to turn on OPEN TICKETS in settings.

The only issue I find is that the ticket cannot be changed once saved. When you bring it up for payment, I think you can add to it but you cannot change an item already on the ticket.

When you are referring to tickets this in in the POS App? Instead of using an invoice? Thank you
