How do I split invoice into payments? It used to be easy but now I don't see an option.  Please advise.

Hey @ryjollc

You will be able to split payments by clicking the "add payment schedule".  You will need to be on the Invoice Plus plan also though to enable milestone payments. Here is a link comparing the free version and Invoice Plus.

I've been trying for an hour to figure out how to add that feature.  I used to be able to do payment plans so I assume Square decided to charge for it all of a sudden.  How do I add the service??? I need to break invoices into payments and it shouldn't be that hard to do so.

Hi @ryjollc,

Sorry to hear you've had trouble finding this feature! You can add items, or services to an invoice, and select "Add Payment Schedule", to break the payment into several installments. Just keep in mind that you need to be subscribed to Invoices Plus to see this option. You can compare the features of Invoices Plus, to Invoices Free, here

Yes I know that.  I'm asking how do I subscribe?  How do I add that feature?  How do I get that service on my account?  I don't need to compare.  A link was already provided above for me to compare.  Again- I need to break invoices into payments like I was once able to do so.  I need to do so again.  How do I add service ASAP?

Hello @ryjollc,

Stepping in for @Aurie while she is away at the moment. What do you see when attempting to click that link she provided?

Just to confirm this is what you'd like to activate below correct?

Yes- just like it used to have as an option.  What's the price to subscribe to this now upgraded feature?  And yes- How do I actually add the feature?  As stated, it simply takes me to the invoice settings page and I don't see how to add/subscribe anything from there

As stated- it simply takes me to my square account 'invoices' section when I click start trial.  And from that section, there's no way to add or subscribe and nothing has changed with my invoice options.   Silly.  I no longer care.  Trying to add a service and pay money and there's no way to do it.  Hilarious.

they took that feature away and added it to a paid subscription,. we don't do it that often so we actually just do multiple invoices and do half one, half two.

Even with the comparison and benefits can you split payment with a sent invoice? I have an invoice for a wedding that half is being paid by each family. Split check scenario.

So Square is going to charge me for something that up until recently was free?  Splitting invoices into milestones.  And you want $20 a month for this IN ADDITION to the thousands of dollars a year you get from my business?  Time to look for another point of sale vendor.  Anyone in the community have any input?

Unfortunately, I am experiencing the exact same issue. I've subscribed to Invoice Plus and the "Upgrade to Invoice Plus" banner is still up as if my subscription has expired. All payment methods are up to date and I still do not have the option to split the payment. All links lead back to the same place, it's definitely frustrating. I will probably cancel the original invoice and send 2 separate invoices instead.

On the help page where it tells you how to split payments, and in the note, it says we get two milestone payment options excluding the deposit. If we subscribe to Invoices Plus (which is ridiculous), we get up to 12. I need to split an invoice into two milestones (which I should be able to do) but I don't get the option to. Please Advise.

Well, that is just interesting. So, for a business that literally rarely use 1 feature, like the split invoice feature, it now costs to use? I literally just searched left & right for that feature to come to this feed & read that it now costs to split an invoice. I have been a square POS user for years, as in roughly 6-7yrs, this is crazy. So, just to split one invoice it will cost my company & what after that because I don’t believe that feature will be used “everyday”. It’s like an unused gym membership that one forgets to unsubscribe from. SMH
