Why wont my square device connect?
I need help connecting my card reader. It keeps telling me 'Reader Unavailable: secure session denial'.
'Developer Options Not Supported, App Restart Required". I've disconnected and reconnected the Bluetooth connection, closed the app and reopened and it keeps telling me the same thing. What am I doing wrong?

Hey there @PaigeCummings, thank you for your post, and welcome aboard the Seller Community!
Can you please try the following steps? These steps are known to resolve the issues related to the error message when trying to connect the Square Reader to Android devices.
In your Square Point of Sale settings:
- Settings > Card Readers > forget all card readers.
- Force-quit the app.
- Open device settings.
- Navigate to Bluetooth.
- Forget all Square Readers.
- Hold the button on the reader until the lights flash red.
- Reboot your Device.
- Re-launch the app, wait 1-2 minutes, and re-pair the reader.
Please let me know if the above steps don't work, I'd be happy to take another look into it.

Turning off Developer Options worked - hopefully no other apps really needed that.

do you have your developer options on in the phone setting? is that what the error portion is taking about when it states "developer option not supported"?

Great! You can exit out of the menus. Close settings and then go back into the settings menu and we're at the bottom you'll see developer options. If you need to turn it off then you can toggle the switch.

You might need to go into the developer options on the way at the end of your Android setting menu and turn it off.
