How to add a note to a payment notification email?

Everytime we process a payment on the Square app, we put in our unique job# in the Notes section. When the payment is processed, we receive the usual email notification showing "$xxx payment - Square Payment #xxxxxxxxxxx" in the email subject line.

Is it possible to show the info entered in the Notes section in the email subject line or anywhere else on the email? Current we have to hit View Payment, login to Square Dashboard and get this info. It doesn't make any sense to be able to add a note to a payment but it doesn't show up in the payment notifcation email.

Hey @KeithT,

Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately there's currently no way to edit what appears in the subject line of the automated transaction emails we send.

A transaction note is intended to display more detailed information on a transaction (including private info for health care providers), while the subject header of the email notification is designed to give a quick and basic summery of the payment.

I can see how this would be useful to you though, so thank you for providing feeback for how this would be beneficial in your situation! While we can't say as to whether this will be a feature in the future, we do track feature requests, and the more demand we see for a given feature, the more likely we are to implement it in the future.

All the best!
