Adding Same Customer to Two Different Accounts

Hi all, Iโ€™m fairly new to Square and am running into an issue that I need help with. I am a dog groomer and have the same customer listed twice is customer accounts. Her number is the same but she has two dogs. I want them to each have their own account as they come different days. When I go into customer it says I have a duplicate. I tried adding a 1 after her name but that isnโ€™t fixing it. I suspect itโ€™s because of the same phone number. Any suggestions please! HELP Fluff and Puff Pet Salon!

Hello again @Fluffandpuff1,

 

I wanted to reach back out after looking into this a bit further. There is not a way to stop the Directory from flagging these names as duplicates, since they share the same phone number and similar names. There is an indicator that is labeled "Ignore" that you should be able to select and then use the two customer profiles. As long as the two profiles have different names, then the system doesn't automatically merge them.

A couple clarifying questions, does it seem like the system is just auto-merging the accounts, or just suggesting a duplicate? As well as, do you see an option to "ignore" the duplicate?
