Weebly not providing product description to Paypal also no address since paypal upgrade

Spoke to Weebly at length about this and they blamed the "new" paypal" API. Contacted paypal and they say no change to API. I am fustrated with Weebly support. Anyone else having this issue? Mine occured on 9-16 when I was forced to do and upgrade to paypal even though I already had a paypal business account.

Shipping and taxes are included in any order sent to PayPal - they just are not displayed separately right now.  We're planning on changing that so it's listed separately, but as with product descriptions I couldn't say how long that will take.  Shipping and Taxes are listed separately in the order confirmation email we send out to your customer, and in the order detail page in Store > Orders.

I'm not sure what you mean by "PayPal not accepting" the order.

That is only the case IF we have set weebly up with shipping and taxes in WEEBLY.  If we have it set up with Paypal then NO!  Shipping and taxes calcualated in Paypal was disconected.  We persoanlly lost $50 in shipping before we caught that this "upgrade" severed our paypal settings from having any control over the order what so ever.

With which of your sites did have it set up like this, @AHE? One of your sites has business, so you can set up your Shipping and Taxes for it in your store here.

My AHE site with buisness is the one I am refering to.  We were set up for paypal to controll the shipping and tax info.

I know that I can set weebly up to control those things for that site. But we did not.  So with the "upgrade" to express having not used weebly to manage those items paypals managment of them was severed and we did not know that untill we had already lost $$$$.

We use ShipStation for everything. It connects to Amazon, (our biggest revenue source) eBay, and Paypal. Now that does not work with Paypal and it does not connect to Weebly. So I look at other offers from Weebly, Shippo and Order Desk. I don't see that Shippo connects to to Amazon or eBay. It seems that Order Desk does. Does anyone have any experience with Order Desk?

Well just got off the phone with our Quickbooks exspert and looks like they can fix this and combine the weebly transaction detials to the Paypal transaction details so that we can get back to printing receipts and getting out exspenses/income controlled in paypal.  But it's going to run us $500+ for them to build the code.

We sent them both types of weebly transaction downlaods....the worst data set he had ever seen but he blieves there is enough to match to the Paypal data set and parse out individual tranactions to get them compatible with quickbooks.

So running total so far weeblys "upgrade" is costing us $550 + about 8 hours of my time.

Folks I think I have found another solution. I spoke to the owner of the software app offered in Weebly called Order Desk. Great guy and nice software so far. It is free or $15 a month depending on use. For me, it takes Weebly orders with all the info and sends them to ShipStation. It has many intergrations. It will also do Amazon, eBay and many others. This seems to solve it for me as it relates to getting my orders out. It also helps me with Square since they odid not have any order info either. It also integrates with Paypal.

Yet another application but it really is very slick and a nice window into your orders. Good luck!

@techcote

Thank you for this!  I will be checking into it.

I do have to say that I think it's totally insane that anyone should have an added expense because of Weebly's mistake, especially when we are already paying for a service with features that we are not getting.

The fun just keep rolling in with this upgrade.

So got my first in state order that should have been charged sales tax today.  NOPE.  For some reason there is a check box at the bottom of the weebly sales tax set up page that lets you "include tax in items price"  Smiley Frustrated  What sort of stupid is that?  And why is it checked by default.  So on that one order another $5.00 out of pocket.

To add to that my tec that  is working to parse the weebly info with paypal so that we can get back to tracking income, exspences and print receipts with quick books found more weebly barf in the transaction details.  Any of our products that use the options fields (most of what we make) have this bit of garbage: Color: Red<#da4444>  Should just be Color: Red   But instead there is the extra tagged on that in the download file serves no purpose.  I belive it's the color pantone code that displays the color on the options on the site but why it's in the download file is beyond me.  So on every receipt we will have  lines and lines and lines of those extra symbols and numbers to delete one at a time.  All because of this wonderfull uplgrade.

AHE, sorry for this trouble you're having with PayPal integration - I would like to get some more info in front of our senior team, so if you could send some screengrabs of what you're seeing via a support ticket, it would be very much appreciated: https://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Sent.

And spent another hour on the phone with "suport"  took 20 minutes to get to a person, 15 to confirm that each product has to have the charge tax box checked...item by item by item rather than just setting up for everything in the store to charge sales tax for in state orders.

He had no idea why we would want to use quickbooks for receipts or accounting.

LOL-  The customer service rep you spoke with on the phone had no idea why you would use Quickbooks for figuring up your receipts and accounting for your website?  How else are you supposed to keep up with everything?

They also don't realize that Paypal is not just a payment processor for some of us-  I use Paypal for most of my bookkeeping.  I import my reports from Paypal into Excel and Quickbooks and without the info on the receipts, I am having a time trying to keep up with it right now so that at the end of the year I don't end up with a mess on my hands trying to figure up my information.  I just don't understand how they ever thought this would be an improvement.  Apparently none of them have their own online stores on the side and therefore don't understand the seller perspective of things and that we just don't sell the items and not have to keep up with any bookkeeping.  They must think that by the way they have things set up.  I just hope that they come to realize that they need to fix these things before there is even more negativity from this for us to deal with.

Have you tried exporting your orders from your Weebly store and using that with Quickbooks? I'm sure the formatting is different from what you export from PayPal, but I would think that would work for what you're doing.

We are new to weebly. We also use paypal pro.  We get the address but no description. Weebly support told us it was a decision of weebly to not send that info to paypal.  I also talked to paypal and they claim they have not changed their policy on this.  Our customers want a packing slip with item description . We always printed that from Paypal before and it worked great.   Who ever the genius is at weebly that made this decision should get a education in business transactions.

The reason that we're not providing the information is because there's a problem on PayPal's end, and it might cause other issues. PayPal is working with our engineers, and together we'll figure out a solution for it.

That contridicts what the Paypal engineers are telling us.  And after they have bent over to try and help with this and weebly has done nothing but deny and change stories day by day I kind of have to put more belife in them.  Not holding my breath that weebly can come up with a repair to this upgrade fiasco.

This is just not acceptable.  We should not have to wait this long for this mistake to be fixed.  It worked beautifully before the upgrade.  Go back to the software version that worked before the upgrade until you get it figured out.  I said this before and now I need to say it again....  I am so close to moving on

Is there an update to this. This is costing me hundreds to have to sift through these order and contact each customer to find out what they ordered. Please update with an ETA for resolution from your engineers, or do a roll back of your update. Since this is such an issue and has been a long standing issue, you should have a roll back or contingency for this. Please update ASAP!!

I do not understand why y'all are so bound and determine not to work with PayPal!  The system worked great for sellers, were were able to see what needed to be shipped at the same time we were formatting a shipping labels. Packing slips were concise 1 page materpieces and printed everytime.

Now it is a total mess and time thief, inefficient, costly and frustrating if not impossible to work with at times.

All I am getting from customer service is that y'all will not change back and for us sellers to hust get over it and work with what we;ve got! and now that your own order pages will not print  what are we suppose to do.. go to ebay where at least we CAN conduct business!!??

At my wits end and ready to bail

if any one has the president/owner of weebly's address please post it we need to really let them know we as the selling community (the backbone and heart of Weebly) are fed up

why?

1 you dropped, with no explanation, the Weebly - PayPal interface

Which allowed a seamless intergration to create shipping labels and packing slips

now we have to go back and forth between Weebly and PayPal in order to produce a simple shipping label.

forget packing slips

especally now as Weebly's own "order" print page is not working.

2, the change in checkout forms is frustrating customers who think that, we sellers, are gathering their information to sell (information we never see)

3, The customer service canned answer: paraphrased here: Yes, we know you have problems, but you'll just have to learn to work within our new sytem.we don't care if you can't do business and we owe you no explanation as to why we are ruining your business.

4. y'all never fix a problem, only make things worse.
