the url is https://www.wendyteakel.com/cv.html I have put a file with the CV in it on the page for the time being -but cannot get Scribd to upload the file. I have tested uploading other files and they wouldn't upload either. Scribd just not working!

cheers Ruby2day

I am just going to use file and text and ignoring Scribd for now.

there seem to be lots of problems with Scribd and Weebly - i really would like Weebly to sort this - every thing should work!

@Ruby2day

It is a scribd issue that goes back years with Weebly - you are better off looking for an alternative! 😞

@Ruby2day

I'm working on an alternative to Scribd that I just found - give me a day or so to get some examples put together.   Happy to say that it does NOT require Weebly or scribd!! 🙂

I thought I had a solution  -  to use the POWr plug-in.

The good news is that is does actually work.

The bad news is that documents take forever (.. and I don't mean when you are editing your site  -  that could be forgiven  -  I mean when users view your site).  Most users will have given up before the document appears.

So it is back to square one.

I have finally found a decent solution.  Convert your document to JPG  -  one page per image.  Then the images display immediately without needing Scribd or POWr.

You can find sites offering free online conversion.

So I say "To Hell with the lot of them!"

I just have to check with colleagues that the images display well on all devices.

Weebly Customer Services have sent me an email saying they "don’t have an ETA for when Scribd will have this fixed".

I am grateful for confirmation that someone is trying to solve the problem but I really think it's time Weebly ditched Scribd,  as they seem to be an unsatisfactory partner.

I'm sorry you are running into this issue. We do have an open ticket with Scribd to try to rectify the issue. I believe there are some alternatives in the App Center if you search for "file".

I pay for Weebly and just got a message that my CV and resume PDFs were not visible. This makes me look unprofessional and sloppy. And potentially costs me career opportunities. I am very upset about this lapse in service.

I suggest WEEBLY just get rid of Scribd. No one wants you must join log-ins for their website.
Weebly should choose customer service (many of us paying) over SCRIBD kickbacks!

Well, would you know it?

At last Scribd is working again (at least for my site) after more than a week  -  and just when I had found an alternative solution.

I think that for the future I'll stick with alternatives.
