download link color

Greetings,

I'm using the "download file" link element in the editor, but I can't control the color of the link text. I've gone to Theme > change fonts > and changed the default color in the "links" box, but the link color doesn't change. The link is active and works for downloads (in addition, when I hover over the link the cursor changes to a hand and a little tip pops up identifying the file), but the link itself is black and I'd like a visual clue that it's a link.

Thanks for your support,

Mike

Hi Mike. Thanks for clarifying. The other option would be to add text and then create a link to the file option. Sorry I wasn't quite following in the beginning, but add a text box and type your verbiage. Then highlight the words you want to make into a link and click on the link icon. Then choose the option for "file". The link will not follow the behavior you setup for Theme>Change Font>Links

Thanks for your post, Mike. Are these download elements nested inside the Call-out Box element? It's possible that is overriding the style. Try moving the download link element outside of the Call-out box to see if that helps.

Hey Adam,

Thanks for this reply, I didn't see it until today.  Good suggestion, but I'm sorry to say it didn't work.

These links are weird.  When you're in the Theme > Change Fonts section, you know how you can hover over "Site Title" or "Paragraph Text" menu items, and that part of the page is highlighted?   When I hover over the "Links" menu item the link that I'm talking about is not highlighted.  So, I don't know what to make of that, any thoughts?

thanks very much for your support,

Mike

Hi Mike. Did you move the link out of the callout box as Adam suggested?

Yes, I did and there's no difference.  Any thoughts?

I'm using the "file download" element available in the site editor.  Is there another link I could set up that might work better?

thanks for your support,

Mike

Can you please post a link to the page with the file link you are referring to? Is a download the behavior you want to happen? Thanks!

Here's the link: https://www.7seaswriting.com/portfolio.html

The problem is not downloading, as I've said: I'm using the "download file" link element in the editor, but I can't control the color of the link text.

Furthermore, these links are weird. When you're in the Theme > Change Fonts section, you know how you can hover over "Site Title" or "Paragraph Text" menu items, and that part of the page is highlighted? When I hover over the "Links" menu item the link that I'm talking about is not highlighted.

On this page, I've placed the link outside the "Call-Out" box in the first example and inside the "Call-Out" box in the rest of the examples (this is the position I prefer).  One of the techs suggested I move it out of the Call box, it didn't work but I wanted to demonstrate that for you.  I hope this helps,

Is there another way to add a download link?   Maybe that's the best route to take.

Thanks very much for your support,

Mike
