add HTML or HTML5 animations to weebly pages

Hello,

I am trying to upload my HTML and HTML5 animations into Weebly "theme/assets" folder.

I am not a coder, I am trying my best to learn but I am stuck here.

The original files are divided in several folders plus an index.html file. I don't understand how I should upload the different files inside the asset folder: everything together or I need to recreate the individual folders? (ex. "data" folder)?

Next: once solved this problem, how do I write a correct code to "embed" the animation on the page? I understand I have to change the file path to " src="http://yoursitename.weebly.com/files/theme/filename.extension" but if I have many files uploaded in the asset folders, do I have to write it in the embed code?

Can you upload a screenshot on how it is done correctly so I can just copy the right way?

I followed the various thread and tried all the options but none worked, so if I see the correct one I will copy it,

MY FILE names:

EMBED CODE:

<iframe style="border:0px;overflow:hidden;" src="Cat/index.html" width="810" height="610"></iframe>

"CAT FOLDER":

  1.                           "data" folder: it contains several folders with  .js files
  2.                            hs.manifest
  3.                            icon.png
  4.                            index.html

HOW DO I UPLOAD THESE INSIDE THE Weebly  "ASSETS" folder?

Thank you so much for your help and patience, again I am not a coder and trying my best to learn

Best,

Natalie

It probably makes more sense to recreate the folders in Assets and upload files into those. Any folder you make would end up like this:

/files/theme/folderYouMade/filename.extension

You'll probably need to update things with your code to use the correct filepath, though.

Ooops....

Unfortunately, the above didn't work Smiley Sad

I think the Weebly theme/site editor doesn't support additional html/html5 or other script or extensions. It takes me a long time to upload any files inside the weebly site editor and it doesn't link properly to the "Embedded Code" (any format of file-path I tried) It also seems not to upload .png images or .gif in the Assets folder. It reads it has uploaded them but in reality they are not there.

I am now trying to upload my interactive widgets and HTML interactive animation through some "Weebly Apps" but I am not finding anyone supporting those widgets.

  1. Is there any other way that I can upload my HTML5 Widgets or WEB APP or HTML interactive content inside Weebly page? My original exported packed file is in .wdgt or.zip.
  2. Also, I am trying to publish my interactive content on a separate server or depository like Dropbox and link it to my Weebly page inside a frame, but it seems rather elaborated process and not much responsive or efficient.
  3. Finally, I found the following "Webnot" website offering useful information, maybe other users can find help there too:https://www.webnots.com/how-to-add-plugins-and-widgets-in-weebly-site/

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can upload my interactive animation content on weebly, please help!

Many thanks,

Natalie

Do you have one currently uploaded and added to a page so I can take a look at it, @natalie1976?

Hello Adam,

thank you for your reply Smiley Happy

I finally did it! Can't really believe it yet!

I uploaded my html5/ebook app on the Kotobee shared library and "embedded" the link of the library page in the "Embed Code" widget, this way it worked immediately. However, I couldn't do the same for the pure html5 animations, I can't link the assets correctly into the theme editor's folder, but I can solve this problem by uploading them as high quality .gif

This is my test page on a copy of my "work-in-progress" test-website:

Thank you so much for your help,

Best,

natalie

PS

If  Weebly support could upload some guideline on how to correctly upload the files in the folders of the theme editor, I think that would be a great visual help for beginners Smiley Happy

Hello,

I have the same problem with  natalie1976 . Is there any other way to embed html files in a weebly site? In order to play the file "index.html" I must upload to my weebly assets all the other files (.js .woff .png) that includes the folder in my computer. I tried that but it didn't work.
