Uploaded photos changing color??

Whenever I upload an image it seems to change color/saturation. How do I prevent this from happening? Trying to upload numerous photography shots across my website Smiley Sad

Sounds like your photos are in CMYK instead of RGB.  If you save your photos using RGB and upload them again they should display properly. Smiley Very Happy

Not at all. It appears that the image component is not color managed. The image is too red most of the time. It is a frequent problem with many amateur web sites (and even some pro sites...) and it is a shame that Weebly cannot do it properly.

Weebly : when are you going to fix that and provide a color-managed image component ?

This is happening to me as well, even when I change the image to RGB. The colors look so different, my color corrected image looks washed out and muted on weebly. Anyone have another solution?

What file format are you using for your image prior to uploading? Is it a JPG? You could try saving it as a PNG and uploading that.

That is an odd fix, but it actually works, regardless if the image is CMYK or RGB. Thank you for the tip, but I wish I wouldn't have to change my images each and everytime I wish to export my designs and illustrations...

If the image is in RGB you shouldn't need to do that; I'm not sure why you would still be having trouble although I figured using a PNG was a good way to get around potential issues.

Help!

My images are uploading looking super dull in colour. I have tried everything as suggested above; lowering the pixel size (no luck), and PNG (again, no luck)! I have also tried as smaller images on the website (like collages) and as stand alone large images - NO LUCK. When I click to "edit the image" the original bright colours come back, but go again when I exit out of this. I have also tried publishing to see if the published version is different to the edit mode - still dull!

The website is based on good imagery - please help!

What page are the photos on? Can you also post an example through here so we can compare?

Standard pages, this problem is happening both in the gallery and as individual images. Please see picture below. This picture is not too bad as the original (on right) is a nice bright one to begin with. Even still, I need the left to be the same as the right. On other pictures where the original isn't so bright to begin with, this colour difference is even more noticable and dulls the whole look when you have multiple together... Any help would really be appreciated. I uploaded some the other night, all around 1125 x 1388 and they all worked - colour in tact. But then suddenly it stops working and now sama problem. At the moment it simply seems like a gamble as to whether the colour of the original image will stay in tact.

Thanks

I have no idea what that is, but it looks super yummy!

The image on the right does look much brighter to me as well. Can you resize the image so that the longest side is no longer than 1000px? You also want to make sure the image is 72dpi.  This should get you the best results when using Image, Gallery, and Slideshow elements. What is the file type you are using?

Haha thank you! Smiley Happy

Okay so after your message I found a great app to change the sizing super easy to under 1000 on the length and then I ensured they were all saved as png. So far so good - all the images I have done so far are working and keeping their colour!

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi everyone! I have the same issues and have tried all the above and nothing seems to be working with my pictures. I uploaded them on facebook and the color looks great, but on here the color looks drastically different. Any ideas?

Can you post your site and the page with the images? Also if you can post a link to the good image so we can compare? Thanks so much!

I do! That's a huge difference. The top is the correct color? I'll see if I can recreate the issue in my account.

Maybe it has something to do with the file itself. I just saved from the picture you posted and I didn't see a change in color like the second image you posted. What are the specs of the file you are uploading? Size, image type, color type, etc.
