Update obsolete jQuery included with all sites to v3.4.0?
Hello, I've noticed that by default Weebly loads in an old version of jQuery. Could this be updated from (1.8.3) to the latest version (3.4.0)? Although I have no idea how you guys are set up, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle just to simply replace the .js file with the latest one from: https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.4.0.min.js, right? Thanks for your time!
Screenshot of Inspect Element for reference:
i mean, it can't be that hard to do if it's automatically added...

Why do you need the latest version to load instead of this older version?

Hello r2d2! I need to use a jQuery plugin on my site that requires a later version of jQuery than what's automatically included through Weebly.

Update: After doing a little extra research, version 1.8.3 was released on November 13, 2012 and it's currently 2019. Pretty obsolete? I think a quick switch wouldn't hurt...

Just a guess, but jumping that far ahead in jQuery versions would probably be a very large project that needs a ton of QA. I did a little Googling and you could probably link to a jQuery source and use a little more code to force the version you want:
Sounds like you add the link to the source you want, then add the no-conflict code right after it.

Hi,
I re-open this thread. With GDPR in Europe, security as become important.
Perhaps you should consider updating JQuery as far as possible for this reason ?
