Space Between Header/Menu and Content

Hi All,

I need to reduce the white space between the top menu and the content. 

Any ideas on how I can do this?

firstly - I need to some how make the top and bottom headers black - they are grey at present due to the theme and i can not find where to change this.

second, there is a massive gap between the top of the page and the menu text ( home - Dates - Shop ) plus on each side of this there are 2 ugly spacers/divider lines that i can not make invisible as they are next to the menue text which I can not edit using the site editor

any help would be great

I am also having trouble on my blog page to:

1. Firstly There is a header that I cannot get rid of (seems pointless having a blank header above the blog)

2. I can only write the title of the blog... no content...

Please can you help?
